Well lets start with Blur. I received an email today from Activision allowing me to download and play their upcoming racing game that they have kept pretty well under the radar. The email started with -
"Valued Community Member,
As a valued member of our community we’re happy to invite you to Activision’s latest multiplayer beta. Because it is an online multiplayer game you will need an Xbox Live Gold account to play so we’ll include a code for a 48 hour free trial of Xbox Live Gold as well."
It goes on to give you the download code and gode you into becoming a fan on facebook. I checked out the website (click here) and I have to say that it looks pretty interesting. For one I am not a fan of racing games, I really enjoyed the NFS series as well as Burnout but I can't stand those other general racers. Apparently this game incorporates high quality racing with power ups (up to 20 cars per race) and then not only can you race online with friends but they have also added a demolition derby mode. Enough about Blur, now onto Brink.
Brink for one has been kinda sneaky. Let me start off with this game is being developed by Bethesda Softworks (Fallout 3, Oblivion, Wet). That right there should be enough to get you to go visit the site (click here). Now this game was mentioned by a buddy of ours (Rog and I) Jordy who said that this would be the last FPS he purchased. So Last night I downloaded a few of the videos on my Xbox so I could see whats up with the game. The way this game incorporates movement into the levels is crazy. Just like Jordy stated it has the feel of Mirror's Edge, with one big difference though, only one button for traversing over obstacles, think Assassin's Creed in first person. Simply by looking up/straight/down you can jump/run through/slide, which ever makes the tactical advantage better for you.
Another great thing about brink is the character customization, imgaine the titles/emblems from MW2 but instead of them being text or pictures they would be referenced on your character as cool new clothing or accessories. I'm not really doing this game justice so please check out the site.
Ok back to work for me. Might post later, work has been kinda slow.
